Kaupfélag Borgfirðinga

Kaupfélag Borgfirðinga was founded on 4 January 1904 and is one of the oldest cooperatives in West Iceland. The society's store is today at Egilsholt 1 in Borgarnes, right beside the main road north out of town.

The store offers a surprisingly wide range — from groceries and fishing gear to pet food, gardening supplies, and farm equipment. Its membership area covers a large part of West Iceland, making it an essential stop for residents, summer-house owners, and travellers on the ring road.
