7 locations in Iceland

Hagkaup is one of Iceland's oldest and best-known retail chains, founded in 1959 by Pálmi Jónsson as a mail-order business. The first store opened at Miklatorg in Reykjavík in 1967, and the Skeifan hypermarket — opened in 1970 — remains one of the chain's most popular locations.
Today Hagkaup operates seven stores: six in the capital region (including Skeifan and Garðabær, which are open 24 hours) and one in Akureyri. The stores offer a wide range of groceries, cosmetics, toys, and home goods — far more than a typical supermarket.
